Hobcon'09 - First Hobby Convention event in Cebu

HOBBY CONVENTION 2009

As what they say, it's the First Hobby convention held here in Cebu. Cosplays, Toy collections and online game events *sponsored by Levelupgames.ph*.

I was informed by this event just last May 2009 and was really excited and then i invited my otaku friends to get together in that event.

Due to my excitement, eventually some of my friends cannot attend, Shiela stuck in Samar/Leyte, Nicel got this wedding event, if they won't come then Al will not also come. I was like... WHHAATTT?! got a bit sad, okay i'll go on SOLO flight.
Good thing aL decided she'll come with me, *Word of Honor*. Okay we're about a little late, the event will start at 2:00 PM as what the schedule in Canevents.com says. We're still far away from Parkmall *gah, hate this jeepney's they're sooo freaking me out and it's a little bit traffic!*

Finally, we're in SM already but we still need to ride a taxi going Parkmall *No jeepneys around in Parkmall*, suddenly Nicel call me out in the phone and she wanted to join us, so like we wait for a while *though it's 3:00PM already and we are not sure we will still be able to watch the event*.

Hooray! nicel's here, *timecheck 3:30PM* Get into the Taxi and boom goin' Parkmall.
It's actually my first time to visit Parkmall.

We Ran as fast as we can hoping we could still catch up, but, GOOD THING!, *Thanks FILIPINO TIME* The event was just started 8timecheck 3:30*. I smooched for the crowd, insert, insert and Hell yeah! i get the front row near the stage. Hooray for me!!!

I took a lot of pictures, was really satisfied of my front row area we're a can shoot and take photo's of those cute cosplayers.

On the other side of the event is the Online game fest. Where "mumu" plays together for a prize. Sponsored by Levelupgames.ph. *was trying to join the Crazykart event :P*

That was a good event. There's a lot of "first times" happening.
1. First time be in parkmall
2. First time to ride in a cool taxi! *imagine that taxi has a TV on it, COOL!*
3. First time to be in a front row desk in a Cosplay event.

They say, there's this another Hobcon event this coming November. Hoping i could join the cosplay competition.

Thanks http://eddbei.multiply.com = for posting the event information on CCC multiply site.
Aloha and Nicel - even though i got bankrupt by the Taxi fares but it's Fun with friend around. :P

Okay here's a proof a TAXI with a TV. Beat that!! :P

Nostalgic song of the 90's : Sweet Soul Revue (Pizzicato Five)

-(Sweet Soul Revue by Pizzicato Five)

Ever remember this song? Sounds Nostalgic right?

Kinda remembers me of my childhood days. I know when Pilipino's hear this song they'll remember the 90's era. Actually this song is a hit on the year 1993-1994.
It'll give me a goosebump when i hear this song again, it really brings back my memories in an instant.

So let's take a few things about Pizzicato Five.

Pizzicato Five (often known simply by the initials P5) is a Japanese pop group best known to audiences in the West in their later incarnation as a duo of Maki Nomiya and Yasuharu Konishi. The group, widely credited (along with Flipper's Guitar) with spearheading the shibuya-kei movement of Tokyo in the 1990s, is known for eclectic and energetic compositions that often sound like "new" releases from the late 1960s hipster scene. The catchphrase "A New
Stereophonic Sound Spectacular" captured the group's ironic stance and eager attitude. The group broke up in March 2001.

Pizzicato Five was a hugely prolific group during its 16-year-long existence, usually releasing at least an album each year in addition to various EPs and remix albums.

The band began to get increasing exposure via the theme songs it recorded for television dramas (a common practice for pop bands in Japan) achieving wide-spread fame with the 1993 single "Sweet Soul Revue", which was featured in a major spring advertising campaign for Kao Corporation (Kanebo Cosmetics). The single became a smash hit.

Members:

* Yasuharu Konishi (小西康陽). Only founding member to stay with the group until the end. Songwriter, bass, keyboards, vocals.
* Keitarō Takanami (高浪慶太郎 later changed his name to 高浪敬太郎 Keitarō Takanami, and was also known as "K-taro"). Guitar and vocals.
* Mamiko Sasaki (佐々木麻美子). Lead vocalist until 1987.
* Ryō Kamomiya (鴨宮諒). Keyboards.
* Takao Tajima (田島貴男). Lead vocalist 1987-1990.
* Maki Nomiya (野宮真貴). Lead vocalist from 1990.

So much for it but still i didn't know why they named they're band as "Pizzicato five". (maybe because they love Pizza or what. LOL)

I didn’t notice till I looked
In the mirror
This morning
I’m falling in love with you
I’m falling in love with you

Where am I going
Dressing up?
Yes, I’m going
To see you
Baby, this town is always a parade
Baby, so I am following

In this world
There are a lot of sweet
And catchy things
Wanna hug
Wanna be happy
Don’t you want to hold them close?

Hey, the revue is starting
Hey, don’t be late
Hey, the revue is starting
Hey, don’t forget

Perhaps you noticed
When you
Looked at me today
You’re fallin’ in love
Fallin’ in love with me

On tv I saw
And old movie
It was like
A musical revue
Baby, the town is always a parade
Baby listen! don’t you hear it?

In this world
There a lot of happy
And lucky things
Wanna kiss
Wanna be glad
Don’t you want to hold them close?
Don’t you want to hold them close?

Hey, the revue is starting
Hey, don’t be late
Hey, the revue is starting
Hey, don’t forget

In this world
There are a lot of
Sweet
And catchy things
Oh lord,
Don’t rain
On my parade
But even if there is no
Happy
Or lucky things at all
In this world
You make me
So happy
Don’t you wanna hold them close?
Don’t you wanna hold them close?

Hey, the revue is starting
Hey, don’t be late
Hey, the revue is starting

Akihabara: Land of Otakus

Akihabara- "rowdy, vulgar, fanatic, but it's a thrilling place that definitely wont appear elsewhere. It's the holy land for those of us who are called otaku by others. We wont be bothered by anyone, it's the land that allows us to be addicted to our own interests, to forget our gloomy lives the oasis in the desert for incompetent people like us. No, perhaps this world is actually our real life"

-akihabara@deep

Akihabara is an area in Tokyo Japan. It is a major shopping area for electronic, computer, anime, and otaku goods, including new and used items. But for us Otaku's it's our Heaven on Earth!

Some Stuffs you'll find when you get to visit Akihabara.

Manga all around!

Toys Collection for sale!

Cosplays and Maids to serve you~!

What's Otaku by the way?

a Japanese term used to refer to people with obsessive interests, particularly anime, manga, and video games. The term otaku refers to a fan of any particular theme, topic, or hobby. Common uses are anime otaku (a fan of anime), cosplay otaku and manga otaku (a fan of Japanese comic books), pasokon otaku (personal computer geeks), gēmu otaku (playing video games), and wota (pronounced 'ota', previously referred to as "idol otaku") that are extreme fans of idols, heavily promoted singing girls.

So the question is.. Are you one of us?
