Online Games Addiction: Guidelines on being a Responsible Student Gamer

ONLINE GAME ADDICTION

From Family computer to Gameboy to Playstations to Online games. Notice how gaming evolves and much better graphics and eventually getting connected with fellow gamers through the use of the internet. Now that's how Online Games get famous for.

"Bahala na adik sa Online games basta indi nagda-drugs" (It's better to be addicted to online games than gettin' hooked with drugs). I know Online gamers take this quote, they are right but remember "too much of everything is bad".

I admit i am one of them and sometimes due to irresponsibility i tend to disregard my priorities specifically school stuffs and blows down my academic life.

Now that i realize my fault, i made this guidelines and techniques in order for you to balance your gaming life and study life. Remember the "TimBudgeR". What the heck is "Tim-Budge-R" anyway? Who the hell invent this weird abbreviation? (Lol! i do)

1. Tim - TIME MANAGEMENT

There's a time for everything so you better manage your time by taking note of your Priorities. School and Work this are usually the top priorities. You can manage your time by a daily planner. Like in my case just like here:

A Daily schedule on the things to do for a certain day. It indicates my busy days and free days. As what you can see, Free days, got nothin' to do so I'd better let myself go play and have fun. Prioritize my school works on school days.

2. Budge - Budget Wisely

"BAON" - one of the most important part of students *I know you'll agree with me xD*. Parents gives us this money for food fulfillment's during recess and fares. But in fact, some students didn't use this money for food, but rather used for Renting PC in a nearby Computer shops or buying those Cards (usually cost 20-500php bucks) so that their Online Game Characters will level up fast and other stuffs.

If you don't want your tummy to ache just because you didn't take lunch and you go directly to the nearby Computer shop and yet still you want your online game character to boost up and have fast leveling, there's one solution for you = BUDGET!

Budget wisely and always remember prioritize Food, prioritize health, you might get sick without proper nutrition and proper eat. There's a lot of budgeting strategies out there but mine is taking out just 10% of my daily Baon. So example i have 100 bucks as my baon for the day, I'll take 10 bucks for savings. So for one week i get 50 bucks as savings. Sometimes i sum this all up and divide, the half goes on gaming life and the other half goes on my coin bank for future use. Try taking out those different strategies and apply it.

3. be a Responsible gamer

Online Games gives us fun but don't ever blame it for giving you Low grades. Come to think of it, you are responsible for what you do. Remember again too much of everything is Bad so why not Balance?

If you have a test for a certain day then it's your responsibility to stay away from the Computer and study. If you have free time then that will be the time to play.

I hope you learn something on my simple guidelines and for your own good you better follow TimBudgeR and stuck it in your mind.

Your fellow gamer,
Mai~
